“FireCrystal” is a play on “Glossbrenner,” an anglicized version of the German “Glassburner”—someone who annealed glass to make it hold its color. Jacob and Johan landed in Philadelphia in 1731. “FireCrystal” came to me in an odd moment 40 years ago. Funny how the subconscious works.
